Lummi Island Ferry Info Booth A Success

A big thank you to everyone who came out to our booth at the Lummi Island Saturday Market last weekend! Representatives from Whatcom County Public Works, Elliott Bay Design Group (our consultant on the new ferry’s design), County Council Representative Todd Donovan, and County Executive Satpal Sidhu were on hand to talk to people and answer their questions. Big thanks to Executive Sidhu for also purchasing the insulated reusable grocery bags that we gave away at the event.

We had 177 people sign on to our community letter in support of our RAISE grant application. If we are awarded the grant, it will help pay for the new ferry and dock modifications. We also collected several public comments and 46 boat name suggestions.

If you didn’t get a chance to provide public comment or give us a name suggestion, it is not too late! Online form links are below, and we are working to get the paper versions of both at the islander store soon.
