The Whatcom County Board of Equalization will convene at 9:00 a.m. on November 23, 2020, via Zoom, and will continue in session and adjourn from time to time for a period of not less than three (3) days, and not to exceed twenty-eight (28) days. Thereafter, meetings will be held at other times as required, to publicly examine and equalize the assessments extended in the current year on the taxable property of Whatcom County, for taxes to be levied in the year 2021. The owner or agent of any taxable property who feels there are inequities in their assessment may file a petition and appear before the board at the time and place appointed via zoom. Petitions must be filed within 30 days from the date of assessment change notice sent from the Assessor to be considered timely. In accordance with guidelines from State and local officials, regarding COVID-19, the Council Office is currently restricted to employees only, petition forms are available at the Whatcom County Courthouse, outside the office door of the Whatcom County Council office, First Floor, Suite 105, Bellingham, Washington Monday thru Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
