The councilmembers do not keep regular office hours, however the council staff is always available during business hours to receive comments, answer questions, and provide access to information.
Council Office regular hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Closed holidays.
The Council Office, Hearing Examiner's Office, and Board of Equalization will begin accepting walk-in requests for services July 1, 2021. Face masks are required inside all public areas of the courthouse at all times, regardless of vaccination status, and the number of people allowed in the Council Office lobby will be limited. Remote options for service and information continue to be available. For more information, please explore the links on the Council webpages or call the Council Office at 360-778-5010. For your convenience, a drop box is available outside the lobby doors for document submittal.
Through the Council Office, citizens may purchase copies of documents, meeting audio CDs, and DVD’s of the regular evening County Council meetings. The cost is set in the 2021 Whatcom County Unified Fee Schedule:
Paper copies are $.15 per image
Certified copies are $3 for first page, $1 for each additional page
CD and DVD copies are $8 each, or $4 if customer supplies a CD/DVD
There is no cost to examine the public record in the Council Office during business hours.
County Council Meeting Accessibility
Members of the community who require special assistance to participate in County Council meetings shall contact our office at least 96 hours in advance of the meeting to enable the Council Office staff to make necessary arrangements.
