What does the facilitator do?
For divorce, child custody and child support matters, the Family Law Court Facilitator is available to assist parties without an attorney process their own paperwork, understand procedures and schedule court hearings.

The Facilitator maintains a library of forms for matters dealing with separation, divorce, child custody and child support, and temporary orders, as well as information about other legal and community resources. 

What can´t the facilitator do?
The Facilitator is not an attorney, may not give legal advice and may not accompany you to court.  Parties are urged to consult with an attorney.   The Facilitator may not complete forms for you or tell you which forms may be appropriate for you, but will be able to show you information with which you may make those decisions for yourself.

Domestic Violence and Anti-Harassmement Petitions

No-contact orders are available, for no fee, through the Prosecuting Attorney's office for victims of some crimes.  If you are the victim of domestic violence or unlawful harassment, the staff of this office is able to assist you petition the court for protection (filing fee of $41 may be required for anti-harassment petitions).  The Crisis Center is also able to help you with these petitions.
