On 11/24/89 at about 1:50 pm, Mandy Stavik left her home on
Strand Road in rural Whatcom County to go jogging with the
family dog. She was wearing green sweat pants and a light colored
sweatshirt. Mandy’s dog returned home without her several
hours later. On 11/27/89 Mandy’s body was found nearby
in the Nooksack River.
