Birch Bay-Lynden Road/Portal Way Signalization/Improvements
The traffic signal was turned on July 30th. Improvements that include turn lanes and railroad crossings upgrades are now complete. Construction of the offsite stormwater pond will commence in mid-August with the project completed in Steptember.
- Intermitten single lane flagged traffic will be in effect through the remainder of the project.
- Motorists should expect minor delays.
This project is located south of Blaine and west of I-5, at Exit 270. Improvements include signalization, channelization, and illumination of the intersection with minor changes to the vertical and horizontal alignment. Stormwater treatment and detention will also be implemented into this project, as well as a wetland mitigation site.
