As Whatcom County begins to coordinate with the community to consider the existing content of the CAO and SMP and appropriate amendments, it is important to have a citizen based advisory body that represents the many perspectives on resource management in the county. The purpose of the advisory group will be to help identify key technical and policy issues associated with natural resources management in Whatcom County.
The aim of the committee is to represent:
- Agricultural Industry
- Forestry Industry
- Development Industry (Building Industry Associated of Washington)
- Environmental Interests
- Key shoreline communities
- Cherry Point Industrial Community
- Citizen at Large
This citizen based advisory body will take the form of a formal Citizens Advisory Committee convened specifically for the CAO and SMP updates. Citizens Advisory Committee meetings will be open to the public and the meeting dates and locations, as well as agendas and summaries are posted on the events page.
Citizens appointed to the committee include:
Roger Almskaar
Elizabeth S. Daly
Robyn du Pre'
Richard Gilda
David Haggith
Margaret (Peg) Larson
Tom Pratum
