Procedure for amending the Whatcom
County Zoning Text and Official Map:
Whatcom County Code
requires zoning text and map amendments to be considered together
as a package once every year with the exception of site specific
rezones and County Council initiated emergency zoning amendments. The amendment process is outlined in Chapter 20.90 of the
Zoning Ordinance.

Procedure for amending the Whatcom
County Comprehensive Plan and Zoning:
The State Growth
Management Act and the Whatcom County Code require that all
Comprehensive Plan Plan amendments, along with related changes
to the zoning, be considered together as a package once every
year (with certain exceptions). The amendment process is
outlined in Chapter 20.10 of the Zoning Ordinance.
