Whatcom County Building Services Division includes the Building Official/Division Supervisor; the Division Secretary; the Planners and Permit Center Technicians at the front counter who greet the public, provide direct customer service and process permit applications; the Plans Examiners who provide customer service and review, process and comment on the full range of building and development permits; and the Public Service Inspectors who provide customer service and perform the complete spectrum of required life/safety inspections. The Division also encompasses the Fire Marshal’s office, which includes the Fire Marshal and the Fire Inspectors.
