Birch Bay Capital Facilities
Planning and Development Services
has identified three capital facilities special projects for Birch Bay.

Public Restrooms and Parking -
The Birch Bay Subarea Plan describes the special project as:
"Working with Whatcom
County Parks, local developers and the Whatcom Transit Authority,
acquire a parking lot with public restroom facilities on the upland
side of Birch Bay Drive. This facility could provide parking
for the Coast Millennium Trail and beach visitors, and also be used
for a bus stop and Park-and-Ride lot for commuters."

Location
of a Birch Bay Post Office -
Recently added to the list of special projects is the investigation
into the location and establishment of a Post Office to serve the
Birch Bay area.
- Location
of a Birch Bay School -
The
Birch Bay area has experience significant growth over the last several
years. A special project is established to investigate the
need to locate a school in the Birch Bay area.
The
Birch Bay Capital Facilities Special Projects are coordinated with
the Land Use and Development/Public Services and Infrastructure Subcommittee
of the Birch Bay Steering Committee.
