Whatcom County is currently in the process of updating the Housing Chapter of the Comprehensive Plan. The GMA requires that the elements of the housing chapter be reviewed and updated every seven years.
Planning staff has presented to the Housing Advisory Committee the current chapter and asked for their input in the update process. Planning staff has also been in discussion with individuals in the real estate, lending and building industries and gathering what their interests are in the update process of the chapter. No draft proposals have been published.
