• Public Survey with Analysis: Whatcom County Parks & Recreation Open Space Plan

     Whatcom County is in the process of updating its Comprehensive Parks, Recreation and Open Space Plan. The plan will provide guidance for the long-range development, acquisition and delivery of parks and recreation services in Whatcom County. Some of the issues that will be addressed in the planning process include senior services, recreational programming, park development and acquisition, resource management, funding and habitat preservation.

      A combination of meetings, workshops, open houses and community surveys will involve the public and help identify priorities and needs. The Beckwith Consulting Group has been contracted to assist the County with the development of the plan and planning process. The plan is targeted to be completed in late 2005.
