North Lake Whatcom Park -
Hertz Trail

This beautiful trail sits between Stewart Mountain and Lake Whatcom. The trail begins with a gradual slope through a lush forest to the interpretive kiosk at the Lakeshore. The trail then follows the railroad grade of the Bellingham & Eastern Railway along the shores of Lake Whatcom. Enjoy views of Lake Whatcom and surrounding hills plus waterfalls and giant old Douglas Fir trees.

From I-5 take the Sunset Drive exit (255) go east. Turn right onto Woburn Street. Turn left onto Barkley Blvd. Turn right onto Britton Road. Turn left onto North Shore Drive. The road name changes to Northshore Road.
