Picnicking

Group Picnic Reservations

Plan now for your summer and fall get-togethers. We have several group picnic sites available for rent. Call early to reserve a site (360) 733-2900. We begin accepting reservations December 1 for the following year. See park map for specific locations.

Group Picnic Shelter:

Picnic shelterThe Group Picnic Shelter was completed in 2001. It has 2000 square feet covered space (30' x 60') and is adjacent to a large grassy field.

  • 20 picnic tables
  • 3 sinks with hot water
  • electric cooking grill
  • large stone fireplace
  • 3' x 3' exterior barbeque grill

Water Tower The tower at Tenent LakeSite:

Located in the middle of the the park near the water tower and play gound. It includes:

  • tent covering eight tables with a 20 x 20 ft. canopy
  • 3' x 3' barbeque grill
  • water spigot at site
  • electrical outlet in adjacent tower (Don't forget 75' electrical cord)

Red & Blue Picnic Areas:

Located in large east side of field:

  • 4 tables per area
  • one 18" barbecue grill per area
  • (Note: no covered shelter, or electricity)

Rules Governing Use of the Park and Picnic Facilities

  • The person renting is responsible for the facility. There is a posted list of duties
  • Please clean up your picnic area
  • Pets must be on leash at all times and handlers are responsible for clean-up
  • Amplified music is not allowed. Acoustic is okay
  • Users of the group picnic facilities must be supervised by a responsible person over 21 years of age
  • Users shall be responsible for damage or loss to property
  • Parking is provided for picnic users

Alcohol:

  • Alcoholic beverages are permitted at your group rental site only if the required alcohol agreement is signed and returned and a payment of a $60 alcohol use fee to Whatcom County Parks & Recreation has been received.
  • A banquet permit obtained from the Washington State Liquor Control Board may be required.
  • No kegs of beer allowed
  • must keep all alcohol at picnic site
  • Site must be vacated at posted closing time
