Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ’s

What kinds of animals are at the park?

From May through October, the park is host to a variety of farm animals, many of which are on loan from local farming families. Draft horses, donkeys, cows, sheep, goats and pigs-some that come as babies or yearlings-become part of he authentic sights, sounds and smells of a little farm. Rabbits, chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese and peacocks live at the park all year long. The peacocks were an anonymous gift to the park many years ago and have made Hovander their home.

Are dogs allowed?

Yes dogs are welcome in most areas at Hovander Park. Approximately half of the park is designated as off leash. Dog walkers are asked to help enhance everyone’s enjoyment of the park by keeping pets on leash in designated leash areas and leaving pets at home when exploring areas where pets are not allowed due to wildlife concerns. * See map (on home page)
