Historical Tours Available
Historical tours led by professional interpreters are available
throughout the spring and summer. These walks are fun and informative
focusing on early days in the lives of the Hovander family,
Ferndale and Whatcom County. A great way to socialize with your
church, civic or family group, so pack a picnic lunch and spend
an afternoon. Contact

Master Gardeners Program
Every Wednesday from 9 a.m.-12 noon April through September
Master Gardeners are on site tending the demonstration garden.
Feel free
to bring your gardening questions and problems - these are
the people who can help you.
Children's Story Garden
Located near the greenhouse by the historic Hovander Orchard, the new Children's Story Garden is:
- a place for kids and adults to grow together
- a place for making connections to the natural world
- a place that cultivates environmental awareness
- a place for building confidence and gaining problem-solving skills
- aplace where children can plant seeds, care for them, watch them grow, and gain a sense of garden stewardship

Master Composting Classes
Free home composting classes will be held throughout the
spring and summer. Call the Cooperative Extension Office at
