WOMEN,
INFANTS AND CHILDREN (WIC) PROGRAM
The Special Supplemental
Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) is a preventive
health and nutrition program that provides short term assistance
to young families to promote optimal growth and development.
Who may be eligible?
- Pregnant, post-partum, and breastfeeding, women
- Infants and children up to age five.
- Only those with limited income and health risks. Working families
may qualify!
Washington State
Department of Health Statewide WIC Income Eligibility Standards
(effective April 1, 2009 - March 31, 2010)
The Statewide WIC Income
Eligibility Standards are 185% of the federal poverty income guidelines.
Each year, the Washington State WIC Program will send an updated
copy of the Statewide WIC Income Eligibility Standards to local
agencies. Local agencies will implement the new guidelines on April
1st of each year.
