Child Passenger Safety Program
Whatcom County Health Department's Parent Child Division is
involved with:
- Organization of county wide car seat inspections
- Organization of training for car seat inspectors
- Compiling data from car seat inspections
- Education to families and groups on proper installation
of car seats. Beginning 2/05, monthly education classes
will be open to all, call 676-6724 Ext. 32107 to register.
- Distribution of over 400 car seats to low income families
- Participation in the Whatcom County Child Passenger Safety
Team
- Participation at local events promoting child passenger safety
(Lynden Fair, Ski to Sea, Kids Day at Civic Field)
Jean Jenkins, RN, is a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Certified Car Seat Technician. Jean and the Parent-Child nursing
staff are available to help families with their child´s
car seat and booster seat needs.
