
The Whatcom Taking Action for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs has grown out of the April 2009, three-day Future Search Conference: Taking Action: Strengthening Services and Support for Children with Special Health Care Needs in Whatcom County. (More Information about the April Future Search conference can be found at this link: Taking Action Future Search Summary 06.09
At the conference and in subsequent action sessions, community partners have agreed to work toward:
- The long term goal of a fully collaborative model of services for children with special health care needs and their families.
- The interim steps necessary to maintain current services, to use resources more efficiently and to continue to identify and address gaps in services.
The
Whatcom Taking Action for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs
currently includes four Action Groups and a Coordinating Council. Information about the focus and activities of each of these groups can be found at the links below. Upcoming group meetings are posted at the end of each group's most recent meeting minutes.
The
Whatcom Taking Action for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs
welcomes anyone who would like to come on board to join the efforts of any of the four Action Groups.
