| About the Division of Emergency Management |
 The Division of Emergency Management (DEM) is responsible for developing and maintaining a community infrastructure for emergency/disaster mitigation, planning, response, and recovery.
Whatcom County DEM has partnered with other local emergency preparedness organizations to create Whatcom Unified Emergency Management (WUEM). At our website, you can find out more about WUEM, as well as learn about hazards in our community, how you can prepare for them, and how you can get involved.
