Purpose: The Lummi Island Ferry Task Force has been discontinued. Please see information for the Lummi Island Ferry Advisory Committee.
The Task Force mission is to examine the future of Lummi Island ferry service and make recommendations to the County Council for its ongoing beneficial operation. The Task Force shall include at least 4 residents and/or landowners of Lummi Island and other Whatcom County residents having knowledge or skills useful to fulfill the Task Force’s mission. Representatives of Lummi Island organizations are encouraged to cooperatively provide the County Council with recommendations for possible task force members. Selection criteria shall include expertise in governmental affairs, transportation, economics, finances, other business-related areas, and community experience.
