Biotoxin Closure Lifted on Whatcom County Beaches

Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning (PSP) biotoxin levels have recently decreased in southern Whatcom County. As a result, the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) has lifted the biotoxin closure for recreational molluscan shellfish harvest from Sandy Point south to the Skagit County line, including Portage Bay. Molluscan shellfish include clams, mussels, oysters, and scallops.
